Here’s a simple and easy Fire Cider recipe to boost your immunity and add a warming kick to your wellness routine
1/2 cup grated fresh ginger
1/2 cup grated fresh horseradish
1 medium onion, chopped
10 cloves of garlic, minced
2 fresh hot peppers, chopped (or 1 tsp dried pepper flakes)
1 organic lemon, sliced
2 tbsp turmeric powder (or 2 inches of fresh turmeric root, grated)
1 tbsp ground black pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh rosemary (optional)
1-2 tbsp honey (optional for sweetness)
Apple cider vinegar to fill the jar (about 2-3 cups)
Combine the Ingredients: Place all the grated, chopped, and minced ingredients (ginger, horseradish, onion, garlic, hot peppers, lemon, turmeric, black pepper, rosemary if using) into a large glass jar.
Add Vinegar: Pour apple cider vinegar over the mixture until all the ingredients are fully covered. Leave about an inch of space at the top of the jar.
Infuse: Seal the jar tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for 3-4 weeks. Shake the jar every day to help the ingredients infuse.
Strain and Store: After 3-4 weeks, strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Transfer the liquid (your fire cider) into a clean bottle or jar.
Serve: Take 1 tablespoon daily to boost immunity, or add it to salad dressings, marinades, or a warm tea.
Health Benefits:
Ginger and turmeric have anti-inflammatory properties.
Horseradish and garlic are great for clearing sinuses and supporting immune health.
